Towards a More Power of Our Country

     "Towards a more resilient Philippines" focuses on strengthening the country's ability to handle and bounce back from various challenges. Our country is prone to a natural disasters such as typhoons, earthquakes, and floods. These disasters often cause widespread destruction and loss of life, making it essential for the country to become more resilient. One of the main causes of the country's vulnerability to natural disaster is its geographical location. It's location in the typhoon belt makes it susceptible to powerful storms that bring heavy rainfall and strong winds. 

    In response to these challenges, the government and various organization in the Philippines have been working towards building a more resilient nation. This includes investing in infrastructure that withstand natural disasters, such as building earthquake-resistant buildings and flood control system. The government has also been implementing early warning systems and evacuation plans to help communities prepare for disasters and minimize their impact. In addition, there has been growing focus on climate change adaption and mitigation efforts to reduce the country's vulnerability to extreme weather events. 

    While progress has been made in building a more resilient Philippines, there is still much work to be done. It is crucial for individuals, communities, and the government to continue working together to improve disasters preparedness and response efforts. By investing in sustainable infrastructure, implementing effective early warning systems, and building capacity at the local level, the Philippines can become better equipped to face the challenges posed by natural disasters. Ultimately, building resilience is not only about responding to disasters when they occur but also about talking proactive measures to reduce risks and strengthen communities for the future.

From Trash to Treasure: Significance of National Clean-up Month

       In line with Proclamation No. 244, which designates September as National Clean-Up Month and the 17th to the 23rd of September as World Clean and Green Week, Ilocos Sur National High School actively participated in these environmental efforts. On September 13, 2024, the school organized a significant event titled "Paaralan ko, Linis ko: General Clean-up Drive." This event saw enthusiastic participation from various campus clubs, including the Filipino Club, of which I am a proud member. During the clean-up drive, students and faculty members worked hand-in-hand to clean, fix, and beautify the school premises.
